Lowndes County is blessed with a large number of residents who regularly contribute to the well being and advancement of this county socially . . . The Lowndes County Commission recently approved a motion to allot $2,000 of its discretionary funds to HIPPY . . . Our recent Group meeting that was held at the Poarch Creek Indian Education Department. The children and their caretakers enjoyed the visit and the activities the ladies had planned for them. We have 3 Tribal children currently in our program. The PCI Family Services and Education Department would like to have their own program for their . . . Conecuh HIPPY had a very exciting October group meeting. To highlight October being Fire Prevention Safety month, we enjoyed a visit from the Evergreen Fire Chief and fireman. They spoke to the parents on “Smoke Alarms Save Lives” and gave pamphlets out to the parents. They also taught the children to stop, drop, roll, and cover your face. . . . In December HIPPY families enjoyed a Christmas party complete with a visit from Santa. The HIPPY staff hosted a party at the Sheffield Recreation Center. High school students volunteered to help children as they made crafts and enjoyed snacks with their parents. Program Coordinator Bill Griffin, dressed as Santa, enjoyed giving children the opportunity to discuss . . . Coosa Co. HIPPY hosted HIPPY USA National Trainer . . . The Monroe County HIPPY received three outstanding awards . . . Calhoun Co. HIPPY graduation . . . Calhoun Co./Anniston’s HIPPY program . . . Baldwin Co. HIPPY receives grant . . . |
